Arch Sparks was born in 1865 and was the Patriarch of our family's small, sustainable,"Farm-to-Table" homestead farms. Three generations of Arch's Grandchildren continue his Farm to Customer dream today with our on Farm Store, CSA program and "Beyond Organic" Farm-to-Table delivery Service.
Arch believed that families should have farms in their lives and that farmers should consider their customers as "Family". That means raising and growing the healthiest most nutrient dense food possible while doing NO HARM to our planet and animal friends. We want our Customers to visit our farms when they can and when they can't we'll bring the farm to your door. |
|
Our farm specializes in the following…… (1) We sell custom-processed whole or half lamb – no growth hormones – lambs are raised on both grass and grain fed. Can provide any type of lamb cuts you want – streaks, chops, roasts, boneless roasts, etc. Lamb is processed at Hemp’s Meats in Jefferson - is USDA inspected - properly aged for 8-9 days - then custom-processed - vacuum-packed and labeled. Lamb is sold by the live weight…… (2) Or, customer can pick-up the whole lamb carcass, and package their own lamb…… (3) 2013 Lamb Prices are slightly lower than 2012 – grain prices have dropped. Price is based on the lamb’s live weight, plus the butcher shop processing costs. --- Lambs 60 to 89 lbs. - $2.60 lb. live weight. --- Lambs 90 to 109 lbs. - $2.40 lb. live weight. --- Lambs 110 to 129 lbs. - $2.20 lb. live weight. --- Lambs 130 to 150 lbs. - $2.10 lb. live weight…… (4) Holidays. May have in-tact male lambs for ethnic groups – best to place your order well in advance of your holiday. Lambs are either taken to the butcher shop, and customer picks up their lamb carcass – or customer takes home a live lamb to raise and process. Please order well in advance…… (5) Taking orders for 2013 Spring lambs for future ethnic holidays…… (6) Sorry, we do not provide on-farm butchering – reason is that we do not have the stainless steel work tables and wash-up facilities…… (6) Registered and Crossbred breeding stock: 2013 ram lambs, 2013 ewe lambs, and 2013 4-H project lambs. Lambs well-muscled, structurally correct, good length, good maternal performance. Lambs and Yearlings show well slick shorn, long hind saddle, eye appeal. Most lambs RR/NN. Will have 75-80 lambs in 2013. Begin lambing in mid-January, 2013. 4-H project lambs available March-May…… (7) Call early to schedule a visit. Some Ram leasing. Can breed your Ewes. We ultrasound bred ewes – to verify that ewe is bred, and number of lambs the ewe is carrying. Visitors welcome. Google: Frederick County Sheep Breeders for other shepherds.
